Clean Comfort Cooking with New Morning Market

Need a quick queso recipe? We’ve got you covered! This queso is composed of two of our favorite dairy-free cheese alternatives – Wayfare & Miyoko’s. You can personalize it anyway you’d like. I sauteed some finely chopped garlic and jalapeno and a dash of chili powder for an extra kick to add to the queso. The options are endless!

10-Minute
Vegan Queso

Ingredients

  • Wayfare Nacho Cheddar Sauce, 1 12 oz. container
  • Miyoko’s Creamery Pourable Mozzarella, 3 tbsp.
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped
  • 1 Jalapeno, chopped with or without seeds (seeds will make it hotter!)
  • ½ tsp. Chili powder
  • Salt & pepper, as desired

Optional Toppings:

  • Diced cherry tomatoes
  • Cilantro
  • Scallions
  • Jalapenos

Directions

Step 1

In a small saucepan, warm olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and jalapeno, stirring often, for about 2 minutes. Add chili powder and cook for 2 more minutes.

Step 2

Add Wayfare Cheese to pot along with 3 tbsp. of Miyoko’s Mozzarella – this will help thin the sauce.

Step 3

Give a good stir and continue heating gently over low heat, stirring frequently for about  5 minutes. If it seems too thick, add a little more Miyoko’s Mozzarella and stir to incorporate.

Step 4

Taste and add additional spices as desired. Remove from heat.

Step 5

Serve warm with chips or drizzle on nachos, burritos or baked potatoes (link to recipe here). Garnish with diced tomatoes, cilantro, scallions and jalapeno…enjoy!
