Dear Friends and Neighbors,

At New Morning Market, we believe that food is one of the most meaningful ways we care for one another. Over the past month, you reminded us just how true that is.

Through our Nourish Our Neighbors program, our community raised $4,880 in just over a month. With New Morning Market’s dollar-for-dollar match, your generosity doubled – bringing the total to nearly $10,000 dedicated to local food & nutrition access efforts across our region.

We are deeply grateful.

This effort was made possible by so many hands and hearts, our front-end team, our staff, and our customers, each showing up with care, trust, and generosity. Together, you strengthened the roots of what has always mattered most at New Morning Market throughout our almost 55 years: a community that looks out for one another, nurtures connection, and continues to grow together.

Where Your Support Is Going

The funds raised through Nourish Our Neighbors are being distributed to food pantries and meal programs serving families, children, seniors, and individuals throughout our region, including:

Bethlehem Food Bank; Brass City Harvest; Community Services Council of Woodbury; CT Foodshare; CT Partnership for Children Food Pantry; Greater Waterbury Interfaith Soup Kitchen; Naugatuck Partnership for Children; New Milford Food Bank (Town Social Services); Roxbury Food Pantry (Christ Church Parish Hall); Safe Haven of Greater Waterbury; Southbury Food Bank; Town of Middlebury Community Food Bank; Town of Prospect Food Pantry; Watertown Food Bank; Thomaston Community Pantry; and Washington & Warren Food Pantry.

We would also like to extend sincere thanks to the Connecticut Community Foundation for their tireless work supporting communities across our region and for helping us identify organizations where the need is greatest.

How You Can Stay Involved

If this effort inspired you, there are many ways to continue supporting food access in our community:

  • Volunteer at a local food pantry or meal program
  • Donate directly to organizations doing this vital work
  • Share resources and information to help connect neighbors with support
  • Support local food systems and organizations committed to access and equity

At New Morning Market, community has always been at the heart of what we do. Thank you for showing us, once again, what it means to truly nourish our neighbors.

With gratitude,
John, Jane, Lucinda & Richard
