Clean Comfort Cooking with New Morning Market

Grass fed cows free-roam the fields of their ranches and eat a diet of fresh grass. Grass fed and grass finished beef, like Thousand Hills Lifetime Grazed 100% Grass Fed Beef, are never fed grain of any kind, resulting in less marbling of the meat and a more rich and natural flavor.

The flavor and texture of grass fed beef is enhanced by special cooking techniques such as reverse searing steaks, braising roasts and stew cuts, and using high heat for grilling or pan-frying burgers.

The experts in our meat department are available to help you find the perfect cut and walk you through their pro cooking tips. We’ve also gathered some expert info from our partners at Thousand Hills Lifetime Grazed 100% Grass Fed Beef as well as our favorite tried and true recipes to share with you.

Cooking Tips

The pros in our meat department suggest slow cooking grass fed roasts until they are “fork tender”, and using directed cooking times as a suggestion. Fork tender means that you can cut into the roast with the prongs of the fork, or, easy enough to cut with a fork, signifying that the roast is tender and ready to serve

This recipe also works in a slow cooker. Follow steps 1 – 4, then transfer the steak and onions to a slow cooker and cook on high for 8 hours.

The smoky chorizo seasoning mixed with the sweet chamoy and mildly spicy jalapeno sauce creates a fireworks show of flavors! However, you can mix and match your favorite seasonings and sauces that cater to your special tastes. Grilled pineapple and roasted poblano pepper, toasted sweet corn and diced tomatoes, or fresh greens and sliced mangos are all delicious substitutes.
