Grateful Together: A Year of Community, Care, and Impact

This year reminded us of something we hold close at New Morning Market: when our community comes together, good things grow. 

In a year filled with uncertainty, you chose generosity. You chose to care. And because of you, thousands of our neighbors across western Connecticut will step into the new year with full plates, warm homes, protected lands, and the support they need to thrive. 

Together, we: 

  • Raised over $8,000 in just a few short weeks through our Nourish Our Neighbors campaign. We are committed to matching up to $10,000 of customer donations to support food rescue organizations across western CT. Donations continue to pour in, and in the coming weeks we’ll begin distributing funds to over a dozen organizations serving thousands of Connecticut families. 
    • Collected over 1,000 holiday gifts for local families through the Salvation Army and Woodbury giving programs – the most we’ve ever received. Your generosity filled our hallways and filled our hearts. 
    • Raised thousands of dollars year-to-date through our Round Up program, supporting meal programs, environmental preservation, animal rescues, family shelters, and more. With just a few extra cents at checkout, you proved that small acts of kindness add up to life-changing impact. 
    • Eliminated single-use grocery bags from our store, removing an estimated 3,000+ bags from circulation this year alone – with measurable environmental benefits we’ll share in the coming weeks. 
    • Raised over $10,000 for the Pomperaug River Watershed Coalition unlocking our full $10,000 matching gift during Give Local 2025, helping protect and sustain the river systems that nourish our entire region. 
    • Kept our food pantry bins full – every single week of the year – no matter the weather, the headlines, or what life threw our way. 

These are more than numbers. These are acts of love. 
These are moments of community. 
These are reminders that goodness always grows here. 

As we head into 2026, we’ll be sharing stories of the impact you made possible, one simple act of generosity at a time.
