Clean Comfort Cooking with New Morning Market

Every wing lover has their favorite recipe. Classic Buffalo for the traditional crowd, honey BBQ for those with a sweet tooth, garlic parmesan for cheese lovers…the sky’s the limit when it comes to flavor combos. We’ve tested, tried, and tasted (and tasted, and tasted…) three different wing recipes that will please any palate and will fit perfectly at your next party. For those of you, like me, who can’t pick a favorite, it’s easy to make all three!

All three of the recipes can be cooked using the oven/sheet pan method or an air fryer. The sheet pan method offers easy clean up and time for other cooking prep. The air fryer will give you a crispier wing and will cook up in a fraction of the time.

Happy cooking! And we’d love to hear about your favorite wing recipe.

Honey Butter BBQ Wings

Ingredients

  • 3 lbs of chicken wings – check with our butcher to make sure the drummies and wings are already cut for you

  • 2 teaspoons of salt

  • 2 teaspoons of pepper

  • 2 teaspoons of garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon of paprika

  • ¼ cup of extra virgin olive oil

  • ¼ cup of melted butter

  • 3 tablespoons of honey

  • 1 cup of BBQ sauce (For this recipe I love True Made Foods Central Texas BBQ Sauce. Its bold flavor, hint of spice, and secret hidden veggie ingredients make a great base to the Honey Butter BBQ sauce.)

Serving suggestions: Save time by purchasing pre-cut organic celery and carrots from our produce department. Toby’s Blue Cheese dressing, also in our produce department makes the perfect creamy dip, balancing out the spice and tang from the sauce.

*This recipe calls for a pantry staple balsamic vinegar and a premium balsamic vinegar. I used Cadia Organic Balsamic Vinegar for marinating the wings and San Giacomo Balsamic Vinegar for the reduction. Both are high quality and delicious. However, the San Giacomo Balsamic Vinegar is an incredibly special secret ingredient. It is lighter than traditional balsamic vinegars due to the Trebbiano and Lambrusco local grapes which are harvested each year at the peak of ripeness to ensure the optimal sugar content. The vinegar matures for two years in juniper, cherry, or acacia wood barrels – giving it a distinctive flavor unlike any other balsamic vinegar. It also makes a delicious reduction with the perfect blend of sweet and savory, which elevates any recipe, from the chicken wing recipe featured here, to roasted asparagus, braised salmon, and anything else you can dream up.

For the Reduction Sauce

  1. Combine the premium balsamic vinegar and the maple sugar in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly until sugar has dissolved.
  2. Bring to a boil the mixture to a boil.
  3. Reduce the heat to low and simmer until the balsamic mixture is reduced by half and coats the back of a spoon, about 15 minutes.
