Dear Friends of New Morning Market,

How is everybody doing? We hope this message finds you well, safe, and sound.

It’s been quite the week (or let’s face it year) here at New Morning Market. We thank you for your patience and support during these past few months and with this latest storm!

While being out of power for five days presented its challenges, we are very fortunate and grateful. CT Food Bank was able to pick up fresh organic produce for those in our community that face food insecurity and hunger.

CT Food Bank serves 200,000 neighbors each month and works to provide nutritious food to families and raise awareness in food security and challenges of hunger in our community.

More than 400,000 Connecticut residents struggle with hunger; more than 117,000 children are food insecure. These are people from all walks of life – children, working parents, seniors, or people living with disabilities. They are our neighbors.

Last year, Connecticut Food Bank distributed enough food to prepare nearly 22.5 million meals to people in need in six Fairfield, Litchfield, Middlesex, New Haven, New London, and Windham counties.

What can you do? Every little bit helps. Five cans of food, $5, or five hours of your time can make a difference in the life of someone who doesn’t have enough to eat every day.

We so appreciate all the support and understanding that has been shown not just over the past five days but throughout this whole wacky year! Our community is more important now than ever. Let’s stick together.

Be Well,

Your friends at New Morning Market
